Asset Management in Action: Adapting Good Practice to Real‑World Contexts

May 21, 2026 1:00 pm

Asset management is the coordinated set of activities an organization undertakes to realize value from its assets. More than simply a plan for action, it is a systematic approach to aligning people, technology, resources, and processes to deliver sustainable services to customers. Asset management is also a journey organizations undertake – one that evolves from reactive, siloed practices to coordinated, proactive, and value‑driven approaches over time. This webinar highlights several asset management initiatives exploring why organizations undertake these efforts, the work involved to enable the journey, and the tangible value and lessons learned as organizations progress along their asset management journeys.

Through three case studies, the webinar demonstrates how organizations can make practical, measurable progress along their asset management journeys. It explores how concepts such as levels of service, risk management, asset information, and lifecycle planning are applied and adapted within different organizational contexts, illustrating how recognized good practices can be implemented across a range of focus areas. The case studies highlight that effective asset management is not one‑size‑fits‑all—the appropriate level of sophistication should align with an organization’s size, maturity, risk profile, and objectives. By examining real‑world applications, the webinar emphasizes how tailored approaches enable organizations to advance asset management capability in a way that is both achievable and sustainable.
